Rezultate ankete smo obdelali z računalniškimi programi Microsoft Office Word 2007 in Microsoft Office Excel 2013.

Title:Patients' awareness of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Abstract:Theoretical basis: According to WHO, COPD is the fourth most common cause of death, thus, it is important to raise awareness among health care workers and general population. Awareness does not improve the patients’ lungs function or physical condition, but it does help to control the disease and improve the quality of life. The purpose of this research was to find out about the patients’ awareness of COPD. Methodology: To gather data, we used descriptive method. Anonymous questionnaire was given to 50 patients with COPD. Results of the questionnaire were statistically analysed with computer programs Microsoft Office Word 2007 and Microsoft Office Excel 2013. Results: The results show, that the majority of the respondents are familiar with their disease. Eighty percent of the patients are well aware of the risk factors concerning COPD; they know how to react when the disease worsens, they also take their medicine regularly. Health care workers taught them, how to take their medicine properly. Conclusion: COPD is one of the leading causes of death; therefore, it is important to detect the disease in its early stage. Nurses present important role here with educating about health.
