Abstract:V diplomskem delu nas je zanimalo kako je v Sloveniji urejena zaščita živali pred mučenjem, kaj sploh smatramo kot mučenje živali, zakaj ga nekateri izvajajo ter predvsem kako država ukrepa, da bi to kaznovala in preprečila. Ker se živali same pred človekom večinoma ne morejo braniti, je nujno, da jih zaščitimo ljudje, čeprav ravno pred nami samimi.

Title:Protection against animal cruelty
Abstract:In the diploma we tried to describe how animal protection from torture is regulated – what exactly is regarded as torture of animals, why some individuals do that and, above all, how the state takes action to prevent and punish the torture. Since animals mostly can’t defend themselves from humans, we have to protect them. They are sentient beings with their own rights that should be respected by humans and at the same time ensured by the state that their violation is sanctioned.
