Abstract:

Title:
THE PROBLEM OF UNEMPLOYMENT IN SLOVENIA DURING ECONOMIC CRISIS
Abstract:
The phenomenon of unemployment is an integral part of modern societies. It is a part of capitalist society and unfortunately can not be avoided. It represents a major problem, which concerns both individuals and society. Small economic areas, among which is Slovenia, are considered to be very sensitive to different changes, which have strong and long-term impact on the economy. In the theoretical part of the thesis we described the labour market and unemployment. Later on we presented the measurement of unemployment, causes and consequences of unemployment. In the final theoretical part we have demonstrated active employment policy, which actions significantly impacts on solving unemployment. In the empirical part of the thesis, we conducted a study with use of a questionnaire in which we assesed where unemployed people can see the reasons for the current situation, accompanied by unemployment, how unemployed people experience their own unemployment and how unemployed people effort to change and improve their situation. We found that unemployment most affects the financial independence, self-esteem, unemployed people have problems with insomnia, fatigue, etc.
