Abstract:
V diplomskem delu obravnavam vpeljavo in uporabo metode drsnih oslonilnih točk (semilandmarks) na spodnji čeljustnici hrčka. Analizirala sem enaindevetdeset (91) vzorcev spodnje čeljustnice hrčkov iz muzeja Senckenberg Research Institute and Natural History Museum Frankfurt am Main, Nemčija (SMF). V nadaljevanju sem transformirane podatke vpeljala v statistično analizo, s katero sem demonstrirala možnost nadaljnje uporabe.

Title:
The introduced and use the methods of semilandmarks in the hamster ' s mandible
Abstract:
The diploma thesis deals with the introduction and use of the semilandmarks and landmarks method on hamster’s mandible. I analyzed ninety-one (91) mandible samples of hamsters from The Senckenberg Research Institute and Natural History Museum in Frankfurt on Main, Germany (SMF). The main aim was to introduce a routine using geometric morphometrics and then use the semilandmarks and landmarks method for measurement. Further on I used the transformed data in the statistical analysis, which enabled me to demonstrate the possibility of further use. I assigned thirty (30) points: five (5) landmarks and twenty-five (25) semilandmarks. I used the information obtained in the morphometric analysis and data analysis with univariate and multivariate statistical methods. I included the first two main components that describe the shape of the mandible in the analysis of the secondary sexual dimorphism. Using the results of the analysis, I found that the morphospace of males and females fully overlap. This means that the shape of the mandible is the same in males and females. I presented the percentage of variability only for the first ten main components (PC 10), which explained 94.3% of variability in the shape of the mandible. I identified three directions of bending on the curve of the ventral side of the mandible where the areas of the alveolus of the incisor is bent in the upward direction. The same upward direction is exhibited in the area of the angular extension, the central part of the mandiblular body, however, is bent downward.
