Abstract:

Title:
SONOCHEMICAL SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF INDIUM AND GALLIUM SULFIDES
Abstract:
Sonochemistry is defined as the area of chemistry, in which chemical reactions take place under the influence of ultrasound, due to acoustic energy. Ultrasound is a related phenomenon that has been known for more than a century, its use achieves an even bigger boom in this day and age. Today, many scientists are involved in this research field since it is fairly innovative method to stimulate chemical reactions. Our research is based on the synthesis of nano-crystals of indium and gallium sulphide by sonochemical method. The purpose of the research was to synthesize nanoparticles with varying types of solvents for indium and gallium, and by changing the molar ratio between the source of indium and gallium source. This method of the synthesis proved useful because we obtained nanocrystalline materials as a result. For the synthesis we used the direct immersion ultrasonic probe VibraCell. The resulting products were characterized by X-Ray poeder diffraction (XRD) and also by thermal analysis (TGA). In order to achieve optimal conditions were changing various parameters, for example. the precursor of gallium, indium precursor, precursor of sulfur, the solvent, the atmosphere and the time of irradiation.
