Abstract:
V diplomski nalogi so predstavljeni ukrepi za preprečevanje diabetične retinopatije in presejalni testi za diabetično retinopatijo. Poudarek je na preventivnem delu medicinske sestre v vzgojno-izobraževalnem procesu diabetikov. Predstavljen je pomen rednih kontrolnih oftalmoloških pregledov ter njihov potek. V empiričnem delu je prikazan rezultat raziskave, ki smo jo izvedli med diabetiki, ki so obiskali izbranega diabetologa v Univerzitetnem kliničnem centru Maribor. Z raziskavo smo ugotavljali, kako pogosto so diabetiki napoteni na specialistični oftalmološki pregled ter kako bi lahko izboljšali informiranost diabetikov o možnostih za izogibanje diabetični retinopatiji.

PREVENTION OF DIABETIC RETINOPATHY
Abstract:
The thesis presents measures to prevent diabetic retinopathy and screening tests for diabetic retinopathy. Preventive work of nurses in diabetes education is presented. Presented is the importance of regular ophtalmological examination. The empirical part of the thesis describes the results of an investigation, carried out on patients of a diabetologist at the University Clinical Center of Maribor. The investigation determinates the frequency of referres to ophtalmologist and possibilities of informing diabetics on how to avoid diabetic retinopathy.
