Title:Primerjava vplivov različnih strategij poučevanja na kakovost in trajnost znanja o členonožcih

Abstract:V naš izobraževalni sistem sta se v strategije poučevanja v večji meri začela vključevati izkustveni in raziskovalni pristop. Bistvo izkustvenega pristopa je, da učenci sami preizkušajo in so čim bolj aktivni. V našem magistrskem delu smo izvajali in vrednotili različne učne strategije ter primerjali vpliv le-teh na kakovost in trajnost znanja o členonožcih. Členonožce smo izbrali zaradi izjemnega ekološkega pomena in pomena, ki ga imajo npr. v medicini, farmaciji, kmetijstvu in genskem inženirstvu. V raziskavi je sodelovalo 469 srednješolcev, petih različnih srednjih šol in sedmih različnih programov. Anketirani so bili različne starosti, in sicer ena skupina dijaki 1. letnika, druga skupina dijaki 3. letnika. Na podlagi podatkov, ki smo jih zbrali z anketiranjem dijakov 1. letnika, smo ugotovili, da je znanje učencev ob vstopu v srednješolsko izobraževanje zadovoljivo in primerno glede na strategije poučevanje, ki so jih anketirani navajali. Priporočamo, da učitelji pri poučevanju vsebin o živalih vključujejo poleg slikovnega gradiva še živalski material (žive ali mrtve živali), obiske živalskih vrtov, akvarijev oz. akvaterarijev, obiske čebelarjev, sadjarjev in kmetov. Pomembno se nam zdi, da pri izvajanju omenjenih vsebin dobijo učenci znanje o celostnem razumevanjnu življenja. V razredu smo z dijaki 3. letnika izvedli poučevanje vsebin o členonožcih tako, da smo pri tem uporabili različne vrste materialov. Uporabili smo slikovno gradivo, plastične oz. gumijaste modele in mrtve živali. Z izvajanjem različnih učnih strategij smo ugotovili, da je najbolj učinkovita kombinacija različnih strategij in uporaba različnih materialov, saj so anketirani na ta način pridobili kakovostnejše znanje. Predlagamo, da se pri poučevanju vseh tistih vsebin o živalih, kjer je to možno (če niso objekt poučevanje nevarne, ogrožene, nedostopne ali iz kateregakoli drugega vidika sporne živali) učitelji čim pogosteje odločajo za uporabo le-teh.

Title:Comparison of the effects of different teaching strategies on the quality and permanence of knowledge about anthropods
Abstract:Hands-on and research approaches have been introduced in the teaching strategies in Slovenian education system to a greater extent. The essence of the hands-on approach is that students experiment themselves and become as active learners as possible. In the framework of the MA thesis, we performed and assessed various teaching strategies, as well as compared their effects on the quality and permanence of knowledge about anthropods. The latter were chosen due to their utmost ecological significance and their importance in the fields of medicine, pharmacy, agriculture and genetic engineering. The survey included 469 year-1 and year-3 secondary-school students from five different upper-secondary schools with seven different education programmes. It was established that the knowledge of year 1 students at the beginning of their secondary school eduction is satisfactory and appropriate with regard to the teaching strategies the respondents had listed. We recommend that animal materials (living or dead animals), visits to zoos, aquariums or aqua-terrariums, visits to apiarists, fruit growers and farmers are included in addition to visual materials in the lessons on animals. It is vital that students acquire a comprehensive understanding of life. Lessons on anthropods for year-3 students were carried out using of a variety of materials, such as visuals, plastic or rubber models and dead animals. By implementing different teaching strategies, we established that a combination of various teaching strategies and the use of diverse materials proved to be the most efficient since the respondents thus acquired knowledge of higher quality. It is recommended that teachers do so as frequently as possible when teaching about animals (unless they are dangerous, endangered, unavailable or problematic for any reason).
