Abstract:

Title:
Synthesis of copper, cobalt and nickel coordination compounds with isoniazid
Abstract:
In this Graduation Thesis I dealt with the synthesis and characterization of novel copper, cobalt and nickel coordination compounds. For the syntheses we used copper acetate monohydrate, cobalt acetate tetrahydrate and nickel acetate tetrahydrate with ligand isoniazid. We carried out seventy synthesis reactions, while changing the various parameters: the time of synthesis, the temperature of the solvent (distilled water, methanol, ethanol, acetone, acetonitrile, tetrahydrofuran, dichloromethane, N, N-dimethylformamide), and the synthesis process (room temperature, reflux and solvothermal). The solvent was selected based on, a preliminary examination of solubility of the reagents in a particular solvent. The synthesized compounds were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The analysis results showed the formation of four different copper, three different cobalt and three different nickel products. The copper and cobalt products were suitable for single-crystal X-ray diffraction, revealing the complexes [Cu(INA)2(H2O)4] in [Co(INA)2(H2O)4], which are already known.
