Title:ECONOMICS OF TEHNICAL SOLUTION OF ENERGY-EFFICIENT NEW BUILDINGS
Abstract:The importance of a low-energy building is a result of several factors, such as rising of energy prices, ecological awareness of the population in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and also legal regulations in the Republic of Slovenia (RS), which are the result of international commitments. We can achieve reducing energy consumption in buildings with more insulating envelope, but that can bring additional costs. Thesis’ empirical case shows the approach of cost determination in terms of the initial investment in building envelope, initial investments in the boiler room (a comparison of electric furnace, air–water heat pump, natural gas boiler and fuel oil). The thesis also presents cost values of individual energy sources in the next 30 years. The results show economically most effective solutions that provide options to determine the state subsidies in order to achieve goals of energy-efficient constructions regulated by RS. At this moment, it is not economically viable to invest in energy materials and sophisticated technology. This approach may also be useful for decision-makers in determining the incentives for new constructions.
