Abstract:

Title:
IMPROVEMENT OF LEADERSHIP PROCESS IN NURSING CARE
Abstract:
The work of nurses is very stressful and it can cause the lack of satisfaction and motivation at their work place. If the employees are not satisfied, motivated and have a positive attitude, professional errors can occur. Head nurses must know their employees very well. They must know, which way and approach is the best to motivate someone and encourage the mentality, that the employees are very important to the employer. To do that, a leader needs a lot of knowledge in the field of personal and social skills. In the theoretical part of the Master's thesis we presented the relevant literature from the field of leadership, team work and leadership improvements. In the empirical part of the Master's thesis we presented the results of a research, which was conducted in the General Hospital of Slovenj Gradec in the summer of 2014. The obtained results have shown, that the employees are satisfied with the leadership of the head nurse of the department and that they support the innovations at work. Head nurses know, how to motivate the employees, when innovations are initiated. We also determined that the employees support the innovations, regardless of their years of earning. Head nurses set an example to the employees. In a leading position is important, that the employees are equal and all of them have the same opportunities for promotions.
