Abstract:Teoretična izhodišča. Vsak izmed nas si želi biti in ostati zdrav, saj je zdravje človekova največja vrednota. Prav tako si to želimo za vse svoje najbližje. Premalokrat pa ljudje pomislimo kaj lahko storimo sami, da bi svoje zdravje okrepili in preprečili obolevanje. Patronažne medicinske sestre izvajajo zdravstveno vzgojo in tako osveščajo o pomenu zdravja zdrave in bolne ljudi, vse od rojstva do smrti. Metodologija raziskovanja. V teoretičnem delu diplomske naloge smo uporabili deskriptivno metodo in metodo preučevanja literature in virov. Zbrane podatke smo pregledali in preučili ter jih zapisali v programu Microsoft Word. V empiričnem delu smo uporabili kvantitativno metodo raziskovanja. Kot raziskovalni instrument smo uporabili anketni vprašalnik. V raziskavo smo vključili 50 patronažnih medicinskih sester. Rezultati. Ugotovili smo, da se patronažne medicinske sestre zavedajo pomembnosti preventivnega dela in da je preventiva pri njihovem delu zelo razširjena. Menijo, da bi z večjo prosvetljenostjo ljudi o skrbi za zdravje, lahko ogroženost za bolezni še zmanjšali. Sklep. Patronažne medicinske sestre se vsakodnevno srečujejo z ljudmi, ki potrebujejo pomoč na domu. Poleg kurativnega dela pri posamezniku, družini in skupnosti si prizadevajo dosegati in večati pozitivno zdravje ter zmanjšati obolevanje.

Title:THE IMPORTANCE OF PREVENTION IN COMMUNITY CARE
Abstract:Theoretical introduction. Each one of us wants to be and stay healthy, because health is a man's most valuable aset. We also want that for all our loved ones. But we rarely think about what we ourselves can do to enhance our health and prevent disease. Community nurses carry out health education and thus raise awarness about the importance of health, with healthy and sick people, from birth to death. Research methodology. In the theoretical part of the thesis we used the descriptive method and the method of studying literature and resources. The collected data was reviewed, anayzed and written down in Microsoft Word programme. In the empirical part we used quantitative methods of research. A questionnaire was used as a research tool. The study included 50 community nurses. Results. We have found that community nurses are aware, that preventive work is important and that prevention is very widespread in their work. They believe that we could reduce the risk of diseases with more education. Conclusion. Community nurses are meeting people who need help at home daily. In addition to curative work with induviduals, families and in the community, they try to improve positive health and reduce ailments.
