Abstract:
V okviru magistrske naloge smo želeli prikazati problematiko odpadkov malih domačih živali in predvsem njihove morebitne škodljive vplive na zdravje in okolje. Med lastniki malih živali smo želeli raziskati prevladujoče načine ravnanja ter osveščenost in informiranost lastnikov malih živali glede problematike odpadkov, ki jih te živali povzročajo. V teoretičnem delu naloge smo podali pregled literature s tega področja. Pri tem smo se osredotočili predvsem na zdravju nevarne posledice, ki jih povzročajo iztrebki malih, mesojedih domačih živali, zanimali pa so nas tudi škodljivi vplivi iztrebkov na rast rastlin. Podali smo tudi kratek pregled zakonodaje, ki ureja to področje. V empiričnem delu pa smo opravili anketo med lastniki domačih živali. V anketi smo želeli predvsem pridobiti informacije o tem, v kolikšni meri so lastniki ozaveščeni glede škodljivih vplivov živalskih iztrebkov na okolje ter njihovih obveznosti, kako so zadovoljni z obveščanjem in ureditvijo ravnanja s tovrstnimi odpadki in kako ravnajo v praksi. V zadnjih letih se je stanje na področju ravnanja z iztrebki domačih živali – predvsem psov – v precejšnji meri uredilo. Po naseljih so postavljeni zabojniki, v katere lahko skrbniki živali odložijo iztrebke. Ugotavljamo pa, da je predvsem s strani lastnikov oziroma skrbnikov še vedno mogoče večkrat zaznati nepravilno ravnanje. S pričujočim magistrskim delom želimo raziskati stanje na tem področju in podati predloge, s katerimi bi dosegli še nadaljnje izboljšave.

Title:
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF SMALL ANIMAL WASTE
Abstract:
The project will focus on the study of waste caused by small animals and their potential harmful influence on health and environment. We will investigate prevailing modes of pets owners' behavour as well as in which degree they are aware of waste problems and how they are informed about their obligations. The theoretical part of the thesis includes the literature review. The emphasis is given particularly on dangerous impacts of pets' dropings on human health besides this animal waste influence on growth of plants is also considered. The brief review of legislative demands from this field is included. The empiric part of the thesis is concerned with the survey performed among pet owners. The main scope of the survey is to get information about owners awareness about harmful influence of animal waste on the environment. We would also like to know how owners are aware of their legislative obligations and how they are satisfed with informing system in this field. Besides this we would like to learn how owners estimate pets waste treatment arrangement and how is their behaviour in practice. In the last years considerable improvement in the field of pets waste treatment can be observed. By example, boxes for dog dropinngs are regularly disposed in the streets. Nevertheless, it can be observed that pets owners sometimes still behave on unappropriate mode. The scope of the present work is to make a research in this field and prepare some proposals for additional improvement.
