Abstract:The advancements made in digital and mobile technology brought many advantages and ease of communication, but it also brings some negative consequences including cyberbullying. This violence is the most prominent in children and youth. More often than not they are not aware what dangers wait for them of the web, frequently they don’t even know they were victims of cyberbullying. At the beginning of this thesis we focused on the definition of cyberbullying, its elements and forms. Then we studied this violence between teenagers in detail and found that teenagers harass mostly because of boredom, revenge, for fun, in seeking attentionor simply to look “cool”. Next we focused on the state in Slovenia and found that very little research has been done on this topic, cyberbullying also isn’t even defined by Slovenian laws. The consequences of cyberbullying over the web and mobile phones were the main point of the last part of the theoretical section. Thought the signs of cyberbullying aren’t easily detected, like for example signs of physical violence, they present a big issue. Cyberbullying can have a huge effect on youth, who are in the process of creating their self-esteem in confidence. The second part presents the results of a questionnaire on the topic of youth and cyberbullying, between 8th grade pupils at primary school Franceta Bevka Tolmin. The questionnaire was answered by 48 students.
