Abstract:
V okviru diplomske naloge smo najprej preučili načine razvijanja programskih knjižnic, potem pa smo se seznanili s postopki pridobivanja podatkov o porabi pomnilnika ter izkoriščenosti procesorja v dveh, danes najbolj uveljavljenih operacijskih sistemih. V teoretičnem delu diplomske naloge smo pogledali razlike med dinamičnimi in statičnimi knjižnicami, preučili smo sistemske knjižnice, ki nam že vračajo podatke o sistemskih virih, na koncu pa smo naredili pregled orodij, ki jih bomo uporabljali v praktičnem delu te diplomske naloge. V praktičnem delu tega diplomskega dela smo razvili dve dinamični knjižnici za spremljanje porabe pomnilnika in izkoriščenosti procesorja, in sicer eno za operacijski sistem Microsoft Windows in drugo za operacijski sistem Linux. Natančnost razvitih rešitev smo primerjali s podatki, ki jih vračajo namenska sistemska orodja. Ugotovili smo, da naša knjižnica vrača sorazmerno natančne podatke, manjša odstopanja v vrnjenih rezultatih smo opazili le v nekaterih primerih. Na osnovi opravljenih eksperimentov trdimo, da sta razviti dinamični knjižnici za analizo porabe pomnilnika in izkoriščenosti procesorja delujoči in dovolj natančni za uporabo v drugih projektih.

SOFTWARE LIBRARY FOR DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF MEMORY CONSUMPTION AND PROCESSOR UTILIZATION
Abstract:
In this thesis, we have researched the development of software libraries, procedures of gaining data about memory usage, and processor utilization in two well-established operating systems, Windows and Linux. In the theoretical part of the thesis, we have looked at the differences between the static and dynamic libraries, the researched system libraries that have already returned information about the system resources. At the end, we have looked at some tools that we will use in the practical part of this thesis. In the practical part of this thesis, we have developed two dynamic software libraries for monitoring the system resources, one for Windows and the other for Linux. We have tested the accuracy of our software library. Therefore, we have compared its results with the results of a system tool that serves the same purpose. We have discovered that our library returns relatively accurate data and noticed smaller deviations only in some cases. Based on the performed experiments, we have concluded that the developed libraries for the dynamic analysis of the system resources have been working and they have been sufficiently accurate in order to be used in other projects.
