Abstract:Teoretična izhodišča, namen: Luskavica je kožna bolezen, ki jo javnost večinoma napačno razume. Bolniki so pogosto stigmatizirani, saj jo ljudje hitro opazijo in zaradi nepoučenosti dajo bolnikom vedeti, da so drugačni.

Title:AWARENESS OF PSORIASIS AMONG PEOPLE
Abstract:Theoretical background, purpose: Psoriasis is a skin disease that the public largely misunderstands. Patients are often stigmatized. People quickly notice the disease and because of ignorance they make patients aware that they are different. The purpose of our research was to present psoriasis and to determine the knowledge of people about the quality of lives of the people with psoriasis, through a survey. Research methods: The survey was based on quantitative and descriptive methodology. We used a structured survey of closed and open types of questions. The survey was conducted among random visitors to the clinic. Results: We found that the education level impacts the knowledge about the disease. Most of the information that the participants received was from the TV and computer. Most of the participants have wrong information about psoriasis. We have found that people agree that there is not enough information about psoriasis. All the participants stated that they would have someone with psoriasis for a friend. But many participants also stated that the disease could have an impact the work relations and patients career. Discussion and conclusion: The survey was conducted on random visitors of the clinic. The people that participated had different levels of education. We found that the awareness about psoriasis is small. Psoriasis affects life in the work environment and has a disruptive impact on everyday relationships. So it is important that the public is aware, that psoriasis is a chronic non-infectious disease and does not change the value of the human.
