Abstract:Metoda LCA omogoča podjetjem, vladnim in nevladnim organizacijam, da ugotavljajo vplive izdelkov na okolje skozi celoten okoljski življenjski cikel izdelka. Sledi ji faza proizvodnje pralnih strojev, kjer največje emisije v okolje, znotraj faze, predstavljajo kovine s svojim pridobivanjem in predelovanjem.

Title:THE IMPORTANCE AND APPLICATION OF LCA METHODOLOGY: CASE OF WASHING MACHINES
Abstract:The topic of diploma is about the meaning and application of LCA methodology in enterprises, governmental and NGO. LCA is the tool that enables enterprises to identify environmental performance and the resulting emissions threw environmental life cycle of a product. The purpose of LCA is in searching for alternatives and solutions for reduction of emissions, searching for better technology solutions and also in improving the participants of being informed. We represent theoretically and in practice LCA, represent its meaning for enterprises and its departments, where the subjects of importance are marketing (market communication, environmental labelling, ect.), management, purchase an R&D (EcoDesign). Threw diploma we try to find out how can LCA help in those departments, what are its cons, what can enterprise change and improve. We try to find out threw interview with Gorenje d. d.’s representative, how familiar is it with LCA. In analytical part we represent two case studies on LCA of washing machines and the interview. The LCA results of those studies show, that the use phase causes the most emissions into the environment. The reasons for that lay in a great amount of energy and water use, and also the use of all kind of detergents. The use phase is followed by production phase, where the biggest emissions are represented by the production and manufacturing of a metals.
