Abstract:Namen raziskave je bil preveriti, na kakšen način bodo udeleženci sprejemali okoljevarstvene odločitve. Sestavili smo vprašalnik, v okviru katerega so udeleženci v prvem delu odgovarjali na vprašanja postavk teorije načrtovanega vedenja in v zadnjem delu sprejeli dokončne odločitve.

Title:USE OF HEURISTICS IN ENVIRONMENTAL DECISION-MAKING IN RELATION TO THE THEORY OF PLANNED BEHAVIOR
Abstract:The purpose of this thesis was to examine the environmental decision-making process of the participants. The main goal of the research was to find out whether the participants considered all three cues of Ajzen's theory of planned behavior (attitude, subjective norm and perceived behavioral control) in their decision making process and reached a decision on the basis of these three cues or whether they used one of the other decision making strategies that were considered in this thesis (lexicographic heuristic, single cue heuristic and unit weight) instead. The participants were given a questionnaire of which the first part consisted of questions with cues referring to the theory of planned behavior and the second part prompted them to reach a final decision. In the first ten questions on transportation, the participants were asked to choose their preferred method of traveling (train or plane), while the next ten questions had them choose between two different electricity providers. The research was conducted with the help of an eye-tracker, offering a detailed insight into the strategies used by the participants. To predict the decisions of the participants, a decision-making model was programmed for every decision-making strategy and compared to the actual decisions of participants. This was followed by a calculation of the percentage of correctly predicted responses for every single task. The effects of social feedback, current mood and expertise were also taken into account. The results of this research show that out of all the models considered in this thesis the theory of planned behavior is the most accurate, followed by the unit weight model. The lexicographic model was the least accurate in predicting the decisions of the participants, although it came close to other models when taking into account certain factors, evidencing the importance of further research in the field of environmental decision making.
