Prevoda tega znamenitega mladinskega literarnega dela sta prispevala Meta Sever in Ivan Žigon.

Title:TRANSLATOLOGICAL AND IDEOLOGICAL SHIFTS IN THE TWO SLOVENE TRANSLATIONS OF THE NOVEL HEIDI
Abstract:Ideology has always been hidden in the literature and literary translations. However, translation studies have started to pay more attention to these ideological influences in the last decade. A translation is always a reflection of a target society's values and its ideological and poetological positions. If a translator is aware of all the possible ideological manipulations which affect his translation, those manipulations can consciously be resisted by the translator. Thus, ideologically more neutral translation can be created. A Slovene translation of the novel Heidi by Meta Sever is an excellent example of ideological manipulation. In this thesis, translation solutions of Christian elements from two Slovene translations of the novel Heidi were compared with the original passages. Slovene translations of this famous juvenile work of literature were made by Meta Sever and Ivan Žigon. The aim of the thesis was to explain the influence of ideology on literary translation. With a comparative analysis it was shown how very much the two translations differ in the sense of religious or Christian elements. Meta Sever eliminated them completely from her translation. It was also confirmed that a translator's strategies and his work are always, at least partly, ideologically manipulated.
