Abstract:Namen pričujočega dela je prikazati zahtevnost in kompleksnost projektiranja predorov v slabo nosilnih hribinah.

Title:COMPARISON OF 3D AND 2D AXIALLY SYMMETRIC ANALYSIS OF THE TUNNEL IN DEMANDING GEOTECHNICAL CONDITIONS
Abstract:The purpose of this work is to show the difficulty and complexity of the design of tunnels in poor load-bearing rocks. At the beginning is shown the overall presentation of the tunnels, where in the latter part is described in detail the new Austrian tunnelling method (NATM), which is the most commonly used method for the design of tunnel on the Slovenian territory. For a practical example 3D geotechnical analysis of the primary support units according to NATM and their design is performed. These results are then compared with the results of analyzes, which were obtained on the basis of an analysis of 2D axially symmetric taking into account the 3D effects. Since the 2D analyses is much faster and require less modern computer equipment, it makes sense to figure out what kind of examples give sufficiently accurate results. Based on the results of both analyzes at the end conclusions are made, showing that for a given example referred 2D analysis does not yield satisfactory results. Results are also interpreted in engineering way.
