V diplomskem delu smo uporabili deskriptivno in kvantitativno metodo dela. Teoretična izhodišča smo predstavili s pomočjo kooperativnih bibliografskih sistemov, kjer smo poiskali domačo in predvsem tujo literaturo.

Title:Medical complications in the sauna and measures used, when dealing with these
Abstract:Medical complications in the sauna, such as burns, dehydration, heart attack / cardiac arrest, hypertension / hypotension, dyspnoea, epilepsy and heat shock, are the states of which can be found at the entrance to the sauna. It is important that health professionals know the correct approach to the diseased person in the sauna, and we know how to properly react and respond to a specific complication. In the thesis, we used descriptive and quantitative method of work. Theoretical positions were presented with the help of co-operative bibliographic systems, where we search for domestic and especially foreign literature. The main purpose of the thesis was to present medical complications at the sauna and to explore knowledge of health measures among healthcare professionals in Finland and Slovenia. This was performed with help of a questionnaire that contained 11 combined and opened type of questions. The study involved rescue teams of emergency medical aid from Maribor, Sežana and Ilirska Bistrica (Slovenia), as well as from Kuopio (Finland). On the basis of resolved questionnaires, we found that frequent use of the sauna in Finland is not statistically associated with better knowledge of health professionals in assisting in the sauna, and that it is theoretical knowledge, which includes a standard approach following ITLS, to health professionals in Finland and Slovenia relatively unknown.
