Abstract:
V diplomskem delu je bil predstavljen razvoj aplikacije v razvojnem okolju Xamarin. Ker Xamarin spada v skupino medplatformskih razvojnih okolij, je bil podrobneje raziskan pojem medplatformskega razvoja, s tem pa tudi naše področje, mobilna medplatformska razvojna okolja, kot so PhoneGap, Appcelerator Titanium, Libgdx in orodje J2Objc. Raziskano okolje Xamarin ponuja razne komponente in medplatformske zmožnosti, ki so bile opisane. Z razvojem Android aplikacije v Xamarinu je bilo okolje tudi praktično preizkušeno, kar je omogočilo možnost primerjave z razvojem Android aplikacije v domorodnem razvojnem okolju.

Software development in the Xamarin development environment
Abstract:
The diploma thesis presents the development of an application in the Xamarin development environment. Due to the fact that Xamarin falls in the cross-platform development environment category, the concept of cross-platform development was further researched, which led to our primary field of interest, mobile cross-platform development environments such as PhoneGap, Appcelerator Titanium, Libgdx and J2Objc tool. The examined Xamarin environment features various components and cross-platform abilities, which were described in the thesis. With the development of an Android application the environment was practically tested, and it assured a comparison with the development of an Android application in a native development environment.
