Abstract:V diplomskem delu smo z makroekonomskimi kazalniki primerjali gospodarstvi Sloveniji in Avstrije.

Title:RETAIL PRICE LEVELS OF FOOD IN SLOVENIA AND AUSTRIA
Abstract:and Austrian economy which point out that the Slovenian economy is less developed. The gross domestic product per capita in purchasing power in Slovenia is on a much lower level in comparison to Austrian one. The same fact can be said about the average monthly earnings. The general level of prices coincides with the fact that a more developed economy demonstrates a higher price level. The general level of prices in Slovenia in the year of 2013 was about 16,7 per cent under the average of the EU-27 countries. In the same period of time, Austria has marked a 7 per cent increase of the general level of prices under the average of the EU-27 countries. According to the field work in July 2014, where an inventory of the prices was made, 157 different types of food were compared and divided into 13 groups. With the help of the calculations of parity pricing we came to the conclusion, that the average level in Slovenia was about 20 per cent lower in comparison to Austria. The cheapest group inside the food pattern was a group of cereals, which was about 33 per cent cheaper in Slovenia. The only group that was 7,3 per cent more expensive in Slovenia, was the group of processed and canned fruits.
Keywords:Economic development, net salary, parity pricing, level of food prices.
