Abstract:
V Sloveniji deluje veliko število društev, zavodov in ustanov, ki jih poznamo pod skupnim pojmom NVO. V Sloveniji ni splošno določene definicije nevladnih organizacij. V svetu obstaja več opredelitev NVO, ki pa uporabljajo različne kriterije za razlikovanje. Poznamo pravno, ekonomsko, funkcionalno, strukturalno-operativno definicijo.Za delovanje in razvoj NVO je značilno povezovanje, sodelovanje, izmenjava izkušenj, največkrat pa skupni interesi. NVO delujejo kot neprofitne organizacije katerih, prioriteta je družbeni interes oz. delovanje v splošno korist vseh državljanov. Prepoznavnost NVO v Sloveniji je po društvih, zavodih in ustanovah. Pomembna oblika društva so tudi gasilska društva, med katere spada tudi gasilsko društvo Gajevci-Placerovci. Njihovo delovanje je odvisno od finančne pomoči lokalnega okolja in članarine svojih članov. Tako kot vse NVO tudi člane gasilskega društva združujejo skupni interesi, povezanost, prostovoljnost in pomoč pomoči potrebnim.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANISATIONS IN SLOVENIA
Abstract:
There are a lot of societies, institutes and institutions in Slovenia, which are known under the common concept of NGO. Basically, there is no general definition for non-governmental organizations in Slovenia. However, the rest of the world uses various definitions of NGO, which have different criteria in order to distinguish one type of NGO from another. Definitions of NVO may vary from legal, economic, functional to structural-operational definition. The operation and development of NGOs is characterized by integration, cooperation, exchange of experience and mostly by common interests. NGOs operate as non-profit organizations whose priority is social interest and acting for the overall benefit of all citizens. In Slovenia NGOs are represented by societies, institutes and institutions. One of the most important and common societies in Slovenian culture are volunteer firemen societies such as volunteer firemen society Gajevci – Placerovci. Their operation depends on the financial support of the local society and the membership of its members. Members of NGOs and members of volunteer firemen society Gajevci – Placerovci have many things in common: interests, special relationship and connection, voluntary work and helping people in need.
