Abstract:

Title:
CHILDREN WITH CEREBRAL PALSY AND EPILEPSY
Abstract:
Theoretical background: This diploma thesis presents a child cerebral palsy and epilepsy. Cerebral palsy means non-progressive movement disorder and is the result of brain damage. Cerebral palsy has a very large spectrum of associated disorders and diseases and among them also epilepsy. Implementation of health care for risk requires from a nurse in developmental outpatient clinic to have special knowledge and skills and to work closely with parents of the child in order for her work to be effective. The aim of our research was to determine what the main nursing problems in a child with cerebral palsy and epilepsy are and the impact this disease has on the performance of daily activities. Research Methodology: The research was based on qualitative methodology; it was conducted through a case study and interview technique, which included open-ended questions. Results: Using a case study, we found that the parents have come to terms with the medical condition of their girl and accept her for who she is. The girl has problems in all areas of vital activities. Conclusion: Having a child with cerebral palsy and epilepsy is not an easy task for parents. This requires a lot of energy, determination and knowledge from them. Cooperation of parents with a nurse is crucial for the child's psychophysical well-being and health.
