Abstract:
Cilj magistrske naloge je prikaz delovanja plinskega odvodnika v primeru tokovnega udara. S pomočjo programskega paketa Matlab Simulink bomo prikazali rezultate tokovnega udara. V praksi bi moral plinski odvodnik zdržati več atmosferskih udarov. Zato vzdržljivost preverjamo na tak način, da odvodnik izpostavljamo standardiziranima udaroma 8/20 μs ter 10/350 μs. Na podlagi znanih lastnosti o odvodniku ter pridobljenih rezultatov bomo naredili SWOT analizo. Predstavili bomo prednosti in slabosti prenapetostne zaščite. S pomočjo pridobljenih ugotovitev se bomo opredelili, ali je smiselna uporaba plinskega odvodnika, ki predstavlja grobo zaščito pred prenapetostnimi in tokovnimi udari.

Title:
SELECTIVE OPERATION OF SURGE ARRESTERS IN LOW VOLTAGE NETWORK
Abstract:
The goal of the master paper is the demonstration of the gas discharge arrester and its purpose in the case of a current shock. The results will be given with the help of Matlab Simulink software. The gas discharge arrester should in practice survive many atmospheric shocks. The durability of the arrester is being tested by exposing it to standardized shocks of 8/20 µs and 10/350 µs. Based on the known facts and given results, the SWOT analysis will be performed. Strenghts and weaknesses of the over-voltage protection will be presented. The findings will show if it makes sense to use the gas discharge arrester, which represents a rough protection against over-voltages and current shocks.
