Abstract:V diplomskem delu smo predstavili melanom, dejavnike tveganja za nastanek kožnega melanoma, njegovo zdravljenje in preventivo v obliki osveščanja prebivalstva in pravilni zaščiti pred UV sevanjem.

Title:Awareness among young people about the risk factors for skin melanoma
Abstract:In the thesis we presented melanoma, risk factors for melanoma, treatment and prevention in the form of awareness of the population and the correct protection against UV radiation. Melanoma si dangerous in all stages of life, but if it is detected early enough it can be totally cured, so it is a big emphasis on prevention as regular self-examination and regular UV protection. The research was on two different high schools, Srednji zdravstveni in kozmetični šoli and Škofijska gimnazija Antona Martina Slomška. The results showed that adolescents know the proper protection from UV rays, but they don’t acknowledge the recommendation, they are almost all already been burn by the sun and most of them applied protective cream only 1x per day. Adolescents are not sufficiently aware of the meaning about regular check ups about their pigment symptoms and which signs they have to be careful about, because research has shown that most information on cutaneous melanoma they get from school, but none from systematic reviews . Because a lot of melanoma discover amoung young people prevention is important from childhood and adolescents forward. It is important to further raise awareness of young people about the correct high SPF factor, real time exposure to the sun to obtain vitamin D and that every single sunburn increases your risk of developing melanoma.
