Abstract:
Širokopasovno omrežje je omrežje, ki je del našega vsakdanjika že vrsto let in se pojavlja v skoraj vseh kotičkih na svetu. Širokopasovno omrežje ponuja številne prednosti, zato je ključnega pomena pri tehnološkem in gospodarskem napredku človeštva. Zaradi velikega števila uporabnikov in vse večjih potreb po izboljšanju širokopasovnih omrežij je to področje tehnologije, ki je in bo eno izmed glavnih tehniških kot tudi finančnih investicij v naslednjih letih. Problem, ki sili v investicije, je širokopasovna nepovezanost in zastarela tehnologija. Če se v našem razmišljanju omejimo na področje Evropske unije, ugotovimo, da je velik odstotek omrežij na tehnologiji, ki s svojo trenutno širokopasovno ponudbo ne zadostuje potrebam pasovne širine. Najbolj pogosta in najcenejša rešitev se pojavlja v optični tehnologiji, ki omogoča ogromne pasovne širine. Da bi se ta problem rešil, bo potrebno, odvisno od primera, obstoječe omrežje nadgraditi ali pa ga ustrezno izgraditi. V diplomski nalogi je zajeta predstavitev Digitalne agende Evropske komisije, strategija razvoja Republike Slovenije, natančen opis širokopasovne tehnologije in njeno delovanje ter pomen nadgradnje obstoječe infrastrukture na ustrezno pasovno širino. Razloženo je, da se izgradnja širokopasovnega omrežja smatra kot projekt, ki je izrednega strateškega pomena za lokalno okolje. Prikazan je načrt izgradnje širokopasovnega omrežja, ki dovoljuje širitev tudi na druge lokacije, priključitev nove infrastrukture na obstoječe omrežje in postopek prilagoditve novi tehnologiji.

Title:
SETTING UP BROADBAND NETWORK IN THE CITY OF LENDAVA
Abstract:
Broadband network is a network that has become a part of modern human daily routine many years ago and can be found almost all over the world. Advantages offered by the broadband network are numerous and it is therefore crucial for technological and economic progress of mankind. Due to the large number of users and the increasing need to improve broadband networks, it has become the major area of technical and financial investments. This trend will continue in the coming years. The problem that compels investment is a lack of broadband networks and obsolete technology. If we only focus on the European Union, we find that a large percentage of networks is based on a technology, which is not sufficient to the needs of bandwidth that broadband networks offers. The most common and cheapest solution occurs in optical technology, which enables huge bandwidth. Depending on the case, the solution to this problem is upgrading of an existing network or building a new network. The thesis includes the presentation of the Digital Agenda of the European Commission, the Development Strategy of the Republic of Slovenia, a detailed description of broadband technology and its operation and the importance of upgrading the existing infrastructure to the appropriate bandwidth. It is explained that the construction of broadband networks is a project of great strategic importance for the local environment. A plan for the construction of broadband network, which allows expansion to other locations, connection of new infrastructure on the existing network and the process of adapting to new technology, is included.
