Abstract:
V diplomskem delu je proučeno, kakšne možnosti so nam dane pri uporabi naravnih rastlinskih barvil za barvanje volne, ter kateri naravni materiali nam omogočajo tudi doseganje protimikrobnih lastnosti. Izbrane so bile surovine, za katere smo predvidevali dobre barvalne sposobnosti. V našem primeru je to avokadovec, malinjak, navadni oreh, pravi žafran, rdeča paprika in rdeče zelje. Pri procesu barvanja smo ločeno dodajali dve kovinski soli (aluminijev sulfat v kombinaciji s kalijevim hydrogen tartratom in železov sulfat), in sicer za doseganje pestrejših barvnih učinkov ter boljše obstojnosti. Po postopku barvanja so bili vzorci oprani, posušeni in razvlaknjeni. Sledil je preizkus barvnih obstojnosti na pranje ter test protimikrobnih lastnosti. Barvano volno smo tudi barvnometrično ovrednotili po CIELAB sistemu.

Title:
Dyeing with natural dyes and antimicrobial properties of wool materials
Abstract:
The aim of the diploma thesis was to study various possibilities of wool dyeing using natural dyes and additionally, to estimate the antimicrobial properties of dyed materials. Raw materials were selected, for which we predicted good colouration abilities. In our case we used avocado, raspberry, common walnut, saffron, red pepper and red cabbage. During dyeing process, two mordants (aluminium sulphate combined with potassium hydrogen tartrate and iron sulphate) were added separately, to achieve enhanced colouration and better colour fastness properties. After dyeing, all samples were washed, dried and de-fibered. Thereafter, colour fastness was testing as well as antimicrobial properties. Finally, colour of naturally-dyed samples was evaluated using the CIELAB system.
