Title:Help with lactation during puerperium postpartum depression.
Abstract:In the postnatal period woman's body and her hormone and mental state start balancing towards the state she was in before the pregnancy. Complications can occur during this process that demand new knowledge and skills of the neonatal mother. Adaptations need to be made to the baby's schedule. The baby also brings changes to the family life and the life of the neonatal mother and her partner. Mood swings are quite common and sometimes also postpartum depression. Research has shown that from 2.000 to 4.000 neonatal mothers suffer every year from the postpartum depression. Cooperation of their partners is a great help to them as well as the knowledge of the community nurses that visit them at their homes and offer them medical and educational advice. The postpartum depression of both patients influenced negatively on the breastfeeding, which consequently led to the stop of lactation. Both patients continued trying breastfeeding and followed community nurse's advice, but they didn't make any progress. They started feeding their babies with adapted milk by the bottle. The research showed a great influence of family relations and understanding with the partner on the quality of life. The community nurse, who helped, advised and demonstrated them the correct technique and method of breastfeeding, was a big help to them.
