V teoretičnem delu so predstavljeni motorični razvoj, motorične sposobnosti, koordinacija, ravnotežje in folklorni plesi.

Title:THE INFLUENCE OF PRACTICING FOLKLORE DANCES IN THE PRESCHOOL PERIOD ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF COORDINATION AND BALANCE
Abstract:The thesis with the title The influence of practicing folklore dances in the preschool period on the development of coordination and balance consists of a theoretical part and an empirical part. The goal of the thesis was to find out, on the basis of motor skill test, whether the practice of folklore dances influences the development of coordination and balance in the preschool period. The data was gathered with the help of a quantitative technique, with motor skill tests, which allegedly explain the skill of balance and coordination. The theoretical part presents the motor skill development, motor skills, coordination, balance and folklore dances. The empirical part presents the results of 120 tested children in the age of 4-6 years from kindergartens in the region of Prlekija. On the basis of the results we found, that the practice of folklore dances has a positive effect on the development of coordination and balance in the preschool period. We also found, that amongst children who take part in practising folklore dances there are no big differences in the results of motor skills between genders in the influence of practicing folklore dances on the development of coordination and balance and that the effect of practicing folklore dances on the development of coordination and balance in the preschool period is independent from the age of the child.
