Abstract:Pri skladiščenju in transportu oster rob na koncu cevi poškoduje površino ostalih cevi, zato je potrebno robljenje navznoter.

Title:Folding machine for thin-walled tubes
Abstract:The sharp edge at the end of the tube damages the surface of other tubes in the case of storage and transport. Therefore, it is necessary to crimp the edges inwards. The master’s thesis concentrates on an ideal machine design, the task of which is to crimp the pipe at the one end after bending. Before we started to design the machine, we analyzed the tube’s reaction to a new tool model by using simulations, followed by manufacturing the tool and testing it. The tests showed that it is possible to manufacture the edge with this kind of tool. However, an additional mandrel must be inserted inside of the tube. Otherwise, the opening of the tube will occur. The reason for the opening lies in the way of joining the tubes and later the design itself and the geometry of the tube. Moreover, various measurements were conducted, on the basis of which we obtained information on required force of the tool to manufacture the tube’s edge and the information on the size of the tube’s movement into the tool. The design of the machine originates from the requirements and the desires of the manufacturer, as well as obtained test results and measurements. The design process involved the construction of a 3D model, and later the technical plan elaboration. The master’s thesis shows and describes the process of the machine automation for crimping a thin-walled tube with the Siemens S7-200 controller. Considering the fact that the undertaking Kovinarstvo Bučar already uses air as a drive for pneumatic cylinders on some parts of the roller track, we decided to use the pneumatics.
