Abstract:Diplomsko delo obravnava kakovost življenja mladostnika s shizofrenijo.

Title:Quality of life adolescent with schizophrenia
Abstract:The final thesis deals with the quality of life of youths with schizophrenia. We have presented the history of schizophrenia and the factors influencing the causes, symptoms, current execution of diagnostics and the possibilities and ways of treatment as well as rehabilitation applied today. Numerous problems occur when a youth needs to integrate in everyday life. The thesis identifies the needs of the youths with schizophrenia, such as breathing, feeding, excreting and other needs. We also deal with the obstacles (which influence social and working ability to adapt, obstacles related to the illness and obstacles which are the reflection of an individual's inability of adapting) which the patients suffering from schizophrenia come across and the help offered to them by nurses and medical staff. On the basis of the results acquired by the study of this case, we can confirm the fact that the quality of life of a youth with schizophrenia has considerably worsened compared to the time before the disease broke out. The study also points out the key factors influencing the inclusions of a youth in the social environment, namely paranoid thoughts, weariness, vertigo, exhaustion, the feeling of being left out and having an unequal position in the society. The results of the research have shown that a youth with schizophrenia can be included in everyday life and the society only partially. This is due to the fact that the society still does not know how to integrate people with this disease into working and social environment, even if their medical condition still enables it.
