Abstract:Diplomska naloga govori o uporabi kognitivnega in intervjuja in hipnoze pri preiskovanju kaznivih dejanj.

Abstract:The Bachelor's Thesis investigates the use of cognitive interview and hypnosis in crime investigation. Opinions on these two methods are still very divided, as various authors credit them in different ways, but similar results are often gained, even through parallel ways. Because of this, we can interpret the existing literature regarding this field either as supported or critisised in various debates. Opinions of researchers and authors of crime investigation literature on cognitive interview are rather uniform, as the tehnique is considered very effective and useful for remembering past events. Even with this there is some scepticism regarding congitive interview, as it is supposed to require a lot of time to implement and to properly train the interviewers, who in turn can make great mistakes in the process due to the considerable complexity of the method itself. Hypnosis is the source of much controversy, as it's use has been sorrounded by prejudice from the very beginning. The main arguments againts are mostly the higher possibilty of memory distortion, innacurate information and the direct influence of the hypnotist on the concious and cognitive processes of the person hypnotised. The overlaping of the tehniques is very high, both have been proved to increase the amount of information gained from the memory of the people questioned. The main difference between the two is the level of certainty of the individual on the accuracy of information and the actual correctness of the statements given. Even with reservations on the use of the methods as the means of improving the memory recall there are many successful cases documented. I conclude the Bachelor's Thesis with the verification of hypotheses and the possibilities of their further implementation and development.
