Abstract:Diplomsko delo z naslovom Odnos do okolja v španski in slovenski osnovni šoli pri 10 do 11 letnih otrocih je razdeljeno na teoretični in empirični del. Teoretični del zajema geografsko-pedagoški sklop in ekološki sklop. V geografsko-pedagoškem sklopu sta opisani Slovenija in Španija. Sledi predstavitev Španije in avtonomne skupnosti Kanarskih otokov z osnovnimi podatki, predstavljena je zgodovina šolskega sistema v Španiji in šolski sistem v Španiji danes.

Title:ATTITUDE TOWARDS THE ENVIRONMENT IN SPANISH AND SLOVENE PRIMARY SCHOOL WITH 10 AND 11-YEAR-OLD CHILDREN
Abstract:The thesis titled Attitude towards the environment in Spanish and Slovene primary school with 10 and 11-year-old children is divided into theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part covers the geographical-pedagogical section and the ecological section. The geographical-pedagogical section describes Slovenia and Spain. Slovenia is presented with basic data, the history of the educational system in Slovenia as well as the educational system in Slovenia today. The subject Science and technology, which is taught in the second triennium, is described in detail as well as the curriculum. This is followed by the presentation of Spain and the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands including the basic data, the history of the educational system in Spain as well as the educational system in Spain today. In continuation, the subject Nature, society and culture is described as well as the curriculum. The ecological section defines the term ecology and the problem of environmental pollution, waste generation, waste management and the climate change issues. In the empirical part of the thesis the attitude towards the environment in Spanish and Slovene primary school with 10 and 11-year-old children is explored. The results have shown that the majority of pupils are environmentally conscious, but there is a difference in the attitude towards the environment in Spanish and Slovene school. The role of teacher in educating pupils about caring for a clean environment has also been determined. In the Slovene school, teachers put more emphasis on talking about caring for a clean environment than teachers in the Spanish school. Consequently, pupils in Slovene schools separate their waste more often and are more aware of the negative effects of the pollution.
