Abstract:
Zaradi vse daljše življenske dobe želimo biti dlje časa mobilni v prometu, saj nam mobilnost omogoča samostojnost in svobodo. V magisterskem delu opisujemo in dokazujemo pomen zavedanja sprememb in izboljšav na področju prometne varnosti starostnikov. Z ukrepi izboljšav prometne varnosti za starejše udeležence v prometu moramo zagotoviti boljšo prometno varnost starostnikov in posledično vseh udeležencev v prometu. Potrebna je posodobitev prometne infrastrukture in suprastrukture. Predvsem je najpomembnejše medgeneracijsko sodelovanje in razumevanje, stalno izpopolnjevanje znanja in kulture v prometu.

Title:
Elderly - participants in traffic accidents
Abstract:
As in most of the more developed countries, Slovenias elderly population grows every year. Projections indicate that by 2050 every third inhabitant of Slovenia will be older than 65 categorized as elderly. According to the forecast of the number of elderly people who will be active in transport, much more research and improvements are needed. People have an increasing need for mobility, which is reflected in the lifestyle we live. Due to longer lifespan of the population, we wish to be included in the traffic network longer, since mobility allows us independence and freedom. This masters work describes and demonstrates the importance of awareness of changes and improvements in the field of traffic safety for the elderly people. With the improvement of traffic safety measures for the elderly road users, we need to ensure better road safety for elderly people and consequently of all road users. A modernization of transport infrastructure and superstructure is also needed. But most important is inter-generational cooperation and understanding, continuous updating of knowledge and culture in traffic.
