Abstract:
V raziskovalni vzorec smo zajeli starše otrok drugega starostnega obdobja.

Title:
MEDIA IN THE LIFE OF CHILDREN
Abstract:
The diploma work “Media in the life of children” is composed of theoretical and empirical part. Within the theoretical work, we have described how different media at the excessive and uncontrolled use have a bad influence on children. Wehavebeeninterested in the presence of media in the lives of children, how much time do children intend to the media, what access do they have and how are they influenced by media. These issues have then been researched within the empirical part of the diploma work. Media are everywhere around us, and it is impossible to avoid them. The children are therefore too often exposed to contents inappropriate for them. Unfortunately, not enough time is spent on media education; therefore children are enabled to follow inappropriate contents. We do not take enough time to talk about what children see and hear in the media. The adults have the opportunity to help children to monitor positive and educational content by guiding them. In the empirical part of the diploma work an empirical method of educational research has been used. The parents of children aged three to six year have been includedin the research sample. The data was gathered by the help of a questionnaire. The data analysis has shown that parents are aware of the negative influence of media on their children. It has also been found that parents realize how all contents are not appropriate for their children. Parents tend to set rules and discuss about media contents with their children. The results have confirmed that media often provide the misinterpretation of reality to children, and also that children are too exposed to media, which can be misleading.
