Abstract:V diplomskem delu smo na podlagi strokovne in znanstvene literature analizirali pojem trajnostni razvoj. Podatki so bili računalniško obdelani s programom SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences).

Title:THE ROLE OF THE MEDIA IN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN KINDERGARTENS
Abstract:This graduation thesis, on the basis of expert and scientific literature, analyses the concept of sustainable development. The purpose of the graduation thesis is to find out whether the children’s magazine Cicido includes contents about sustainable development and, if so, to what extent. The purpose of the empirical research was to find out how pre-school teachers understand upbringing for sustainable development. Besides that, we were interested in the Cicido’s role in establishing upbringing for sustainable development. We also investigated to what extent pre-school teachers use the magazine Cicido and what were the pre-school teachers’ expectations about its content. We used a descriptive and a causal-non-experimental method of empirical pedagogical research. The survey, which was carried out in April and May of 2012, included 129 pre-school teachers from the Maribor area and the wider area of Ptuj. There were no male pre-school teachers. The data was computer-analysed with the SPSS programme (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). The statistical significance was determined at the risk level of 0.05 (p < 0.05). The results show that, in their work, the majority of pre-school teachers use the magazine Cidido, but not every day. Most often they use stories that are related to sustainable development, while songs, riddles, counting rhymes and rhymes are rarely used to support upbringing for sustainable development. Pre-school teachers believe that Cidido has enough contents about sustainable development and have no special expectations.
