Abstract:Čas množičnih medijev v Sloveniji med drugim zaznamuje televizija, novi regionalni televizijski programi, številne komercialne radijske postaje, novi častniki in časopisi z izrazito komercialno usmerjenostjo. V demokratični družbi naj bi bila ena izmed temeljnih nalog tudi objektivno poročanje in obveščanje ter seznanjanje javnosti z mejami med dovoljenim in nedovoljenim vedenjem. Z obveščanjem in ob njem se razvija in nastaja tudi podoba o družbeno negativnih pojavih. Ta je lahko objektivna, lahko pa tudi popolnoma izkrivljena. Naloga vsakega novinarja, poročevalca pa je, da se pri poročanju dokoplje do čimbolj objektivne resnice, da bi jo posredoval naslovnikom svojega sporočila. Pri tem mora nadzorovati čustveno plat svojega poročanja. Vsako odstopanje od tega pravila prinaša nevarnost, da se bo njegovo poročanje izkrivilo v smeri kršitev izbranega novinarskega žanra ter povzročilo motnjo med njim in sprejemnikom njegovega sporočila. V delu sem proučil medije na splošno, prav tako pa sem se osredotočil tudi na televizijo kot medij enega izmed množičnih medijev.

Title:MEDIA AND DEMOCRACY
Abstract:The time of mass media in Slovenia, among other things, characterized by television, the new regional television channels, many commercial radio stations, newspapers and the new officers with a strong commercial orientation. In a democratic society should be one of the basic tasks and objective reporting and communication and make the boundaries between licit and illicit behavior. By informing and taking it to develop and produce a negative image of social phenomena. This can be objective, but it can also be completely distorted. The task of any journalist, but the rapporteur to the report found the most objective truth to it to the addressees of his message. They must control the emotional side of their reporting. Any deviation from this rule carries the risk that it will be distorted in the direction of reporting breaches of journalistic genre selected and disturbing between him and the receiver of his message. In Part I examined the media in general, as well as I focused on television as a medium of one of the mass media.
