Abstract:V letu 2008 smo v nasadu jagod sorte 'Elsanta' v Zrkovcih pri Mariboru izvajali poskus uporabe čmrljev za izboljšanje oprašitve in posledično večjega in kakovostnejšega pridelka. V nasadu jagod, v plastenjakih, je potekala klasična proizvodnja po načelih integrirane pridelave. Poskusne parcelice (16 parcelic s po tremi rastlinami) so bile razporejene v dveh tunelih in različno oddaljene od panja s čmrlji. Polovico parcelic smo pokrili z mrežo in s tem onemogočili čmrljem dostop do cvetov.

Title:The Role of Bumblebees in Pollinating Strawberries
Abstract:Trial use of bumblebees on a strawberry patch of the ‘Elsanta’ variety was carried out in 2008 to improve pollination and consequently produce a bigger and more qualitative product. Classic production was implemented on the strawberry patch in plastic containers according to the principles of integrated production. The trial lots (16 lots with three plants each) were allocated in two tunnels, located in various distances from a colony of bumblebees. Half of the lots were covered with netting to allow the bumblebees access to the blossoms. The quantity and quality of the product was assessed during seven harvests carried out in two- to three-day intervals. From the results it is evident that the presence of bumblebees did not significantly contribute to a larger number of fruit, but did however improve the average mass of the fruit.
