Abstract:Diplomsko delo govori o trombocitopeniji, njenih simptomih, vzrokih za nastanek in zdravstveni negi pacienta s trombocitopenijo. Podatke o pacientu smo zbrali s pomočjo vprašalnika, opazovanja pacienta, pogovora s pacientom in zdravstvenim timom.

Title:Nursing care of a patient with thrombocytopenia
Abstract:In the thesis we described thrombocytopenia, its symptoms, causes of the disease and health care of patients with thrombocytopenia. Thrombocytopenia is a condition where is the platelet count in blood below 150x109/l. The thesis is divided into theoretical and empirical parts. In the theoretical part is described the blood structure, thrombocytopenia, immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), treatment of thrombocytopenia and health care of patients with bleeding injuries. In the empirical part of the thesis is presented nursing plan for the treatment of the patient with thrombocytopenia. Collecting the patient data was conducted with the use of a questionnaire and interviews with patient and health care team. We tried to establishe the patient most common health care problems coused by thrombocytopenia. The biggest risk for patient health is bleeding and the risk of bleeding. Other nursing problems that occured are sleeping disorder, pain, risk of fall and risk of infection. The primary task of nursing a patient with thrombocytopenia is health education. The nurse must advise the patient to visit a doctor immediately at the onset of bleeding, to use a neutral, soft skin care products, to avoid rough sports, to use greater caution while performing household tasks and to carefully observe the skin and mucous membranes for any changes.
