Title:FINANCIAL MARKETS EX - YUGOSLAVIA
Abstract:In financial markets supply and demand interact to find the equilibrium price for assets. Financial markets also provide the important economic activity of facilitating the flow of funds from savers to borrowers. Financial institutions collect and distribute funds between economic agents with surplus funds and those with deficits. They are companies engaged in a wide range of financial activities. Financial institutions also contribute to the key economic principle of risk and return. While investor confidence in financial markets has declined considerably recently, we still find significant potential in the Balkan region’s capital markets. The individual state institutions will have to take a lot of brave decisions in order to achieving the financial goals. Following a difficult three years, share prices of the region’s largest listed companies have begun to recover, but have underperformed peers in developed nations.
