Rezultati so bili pridobljeni s pomočjo anketnih vprašalnikov. Ključne besede: ljudsko izročilo, ljudska glasba, značilnosti slovenske ljudske pesmi, učni načrt za glasbeno vzgojo, ljudska pesem v prvem in drugem triletju.

Title:DOES THE SLOVENIAN VOLKSONG STILL EXIST AMONG OUR FIFTGRADES?
Abstract:Folk music is an important part of the nation’s cultural heritage and is included in the syllabus for musical education in primary schools. It gives teachers a variety of possibilities of how to bring this music type closer to children and preserving the Slovenian folk songs and their lives as well as pass them down to future generations as a part of their national heritage. The purpose of this diploma paper is to establish to what extent and in which way, is the folk music present among Slovenian fifth-graders. The research is based on 200 fifth grade pupils within the Ptuj region, 100 of them are pupils from urban schools (OŠ Mladika, OŠ Ljudski vrt, OŠ Ogle Meglič) and 100 of them come from rural schools (OŠ Gorišnica, OŠ Destrnik, OŠ Markovci, OŠ Dornava). The descriptive method of the empirical pedagogical research work was used in the research. The results were gained by questionnaires. We found out that the fifth-graders like folk songs. The school is taking over the most important role in preserving the folk tradition. There were no essential differences in the knowledge of the folk songs or music among the pupils from the urban or rural areas. We have to be aware that the flood of modern music and different music styles does not necessarily mean qualitative music. We must include folk music in the educational process in order to preserve the rich Slovenian heritage in the future.
Keywords:folk tradition, folk music, features of Slovenian folk songs, syllabus for musical education, folk songs in the first six years of primary school.
