Abstract:Železnica je bila od nekdaj povezana z gospodarstvom v vseh državah, ki je sledilo nekemu splošnemu razvoju. Vendar so temu razvoju težje sledile železnice, saj potrebujejo daljši čas za prilagoditev. Tako so železnice doživele malo sprememb, gospodarstvo pa se je skozi leta povsem spremenilo. Diplomska naloga je razdeljena na tri dele. Prvi del zajema teoretične osnove o SŽ ter kapaciteti, v drugem delu sledi posnetek trenutnega stanja, v tretjem delu so nato podani predlogi za izboljšanje dejanske izrabe kapacitet. Diplomska naloga torej zajema kratek opis SŽ, kateremu je dodano tudi poglavje o tujih operaterjih na slovenskih progah. Seveda sta najpomembnejši poglavji o kapaciteti in njeni izrabi. Temu sledijo rezultati in predlogi za nadaljnje delo, v zadnjem poglavju pa so opisani pogoji za uvedbo predlogov in podane možnosti za nadaljnji razvoj.

Title:CAPACITY UTILIZATION OF THE SLOVENIAN RAILWAY NETWORK
Abstract:Railway has always been connected to the economy of the all countries that followed a particular development. However, railways had more troubles to follow that development, because they require a longer time to adjust. Therefore, the railways have experienced little changes but the economy has completely changed over the years. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part covers the theoretical basis of the Slovenian Railways and capacity, the second part describes the current situation and the third section puts forward suggestions for improving the effective utilization of capacity. So the thesis includes a brief description of the Slovenian Railways, where is also added a chapter on foreign operators, which are found in the Slovenian route. Following chapters are about capacity and its utilization, then the results and suggestions for further work in this area. In the last section of the thesis are also described the conditions for the introduction of the proposals and given opportunities for further development.
