Abstract:Namen diplomske naloge je določiti koncentracije policikličnih aromatskih ogljikovodikov v vzorcih zemlje. Za določitev policikličnih aromatskih ogljikovodikov v zemlji smo uporabili metodo plinske kromatografije z masno selektivnim detektorjem (GC/MSD) in metodo izbranih ionov (SIM – selected ion monitoring). Za kvantitativno določitev v GC/MSD smo uporabili interne standarde acenaften – d10, fenantren – d10 in krizen – d12. Postopek priprave vzorca je bil ekstrakcija trdno – tekoče z mešanico topil n-heksana in diklorometana. Za čiščenje ekstraktov smo uporabili kolono napolnjeno s silikagelom in aluminijevim oksidom. Rezultate vsebnosti policikličnih aromatskih ogljikovodikov smo statistično ovrednotili glede na zahteve validacijskega postopka (linearnost, ponovljivost, točnost, meja določljivosti, meja zaznavnosti, selektivnost in sistem zagotavljanja kakovosti). Ugotovili smo prisotnost vpliva matrice.

Title:DETERMINATION OF POLYCYCLIC AROMATIC HYDROCARBONS IN SOIL
Abstract:The aim of diploma thesis is to determine concentration of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) in soil samples. For PAHs determination in soil samples gas chromatography with mass spectrometry (GC/MS) was used. Acenaphtene – d10, phenantrene – d10 and chrysene – d12 were used as internal standards for quantitation purposes. Analytical procedure is based on solid – liquid extraction using solvent mixture n-hexane and dichloromethane. The extracts were cleaned-up using silica/Al2O3 column. Results were statistically evaluated according to validation requirements (linearity, repeatability, accuracy, limit of quantitation, limit of detection, selectivity and according to quality assurance plan). We found the presence of matrix effect. The results show that the analytical method for the determination of PAHs in soil matrix is accurate and reliable, because the recoveries for all PAHs with the exception of naphtalene are reproducible and within permitted limits.
