Abstract:
Dejavniki tveganja za nastanek kompulzivnega prenajedanja so različni družinski dejavniki, socio — kulturni dejavniki (predvsem vpliv medijev) in biološko genski dejavniki (čezmerna teža v zgodnjem otroštvu in specifične osebnostne poteze). Znaki kompulzivnega prenajedanja so telesni, psihični in vedenjski.

Title:
Compulsive overeating as a form of eating disorders
Abstract:
In the thesis we discussed compulsive overeating, one of the eating disorders, which is nowadays a serious domestic and international issue. Typical for it is enjoying in large amounts of food, the so called stuffing with food. Apart from bulimia, the affected tries not to get rid of the enjoyed food by throwing up. The consequence is overweight, which causes feelings of shame, disgust, and guilt and often leads to social isolation. The risk-factors for the emerge of compulsive overeating are different family factors, socio-cultural factors (especially the influence of the media) and biological genetic factor (overweight in early childhood and specific personal traits). The signs of compulsive overeating are physical, psychical and behavioural. The consequences reflect in the physical, emotional, spiritual and social area. In Slovenia there are numerous organizations, carrying out programs for people with eating disorders. Self-help groups are groups of people, connected by the same problem. The main ideology of these groups is to re-establish the trust in other people, finding support, security, help and love in them, not in food. The treatment and personal care of the patient with eating disorders demands efforts in the physical, psychical and social area of health. Compulsive overeating is curable. The cure does not only mean a state without symptoms, but also a suitable spiritual and social functioning in the narrow and wide field.
