Abstract:
Sklep. Znanje o RMV je pri anketiranih študentkah pomanjkljivo in bi ga bilo potrebno dopolniti, saj lahko le poučene mladostnice in ženske pripomorejo k zmanjšanju obolevnosti za RMV, k zgodnejši postavitvi diagnoze ter s tem k uspešnejšemu zdravljenju in zmanjšanju umrljivosti za to boleznijo.

Title:
THE STUDENTS´ AWARENESS ABOUT CERVICAL CANCER
Abstract:
Cervical cancer (CC) is a cancer that affects the most active population of women and it is one of the rarest cancer diseases that may be prevented. To prevent cervical cancer a nurse has a very important role, because she informs female adolescents and women about CC, about risk factors, about importance of preventing and detecting it at an early stage. A nurse can reduce or prevent the illness by encouraging a healthy life style and early detecting. The essence of my diploma work is CC. The theoretical part presents CC; epidemiology, risk factors, development, signs, diagnostics, treatment, prevention, and the role of a nurse. In the research part of the diploma there is a research which shows the students’ awareness of CC. Research methodology. We used a descriptive method with the help of anonymous questionnaire. The research included 50 accidentally chosen students, and we processed the data and presented it with the help of computer programs. Research results. We found out that the students do not know enough about CC. Conclusion. The knowledge about CC among students is deficient and should be improved, since only informed female adolescents and women can add to reduction of the illness, to the early diagnostics and so to more successful treatment and reduction of death rate because of this illness.
