Abstract:V nalogi smo želeli proučiti vpliv filtra waterpik R-7 na izboljšanje kvalitete pitne vode. To vidimo v povečani prevodnosti.

Title:THE IMPACT OF WATERPIK R-7 FILTER ON DRINKING WATER QUALITY
Abstract:The objective of this diploma was to determine the impact of filter waterpik R-7 on drinking water quality. We tested filter waterpik R-7, for which we have a guarantee of a producer, that the concentrations of lindane, asbestos, lead, chlorine and dangerous parasites (cists Giardia and Cryptosporidium) are reduced through the filtration. We also wanted to study effectiveness of filter waterpik R-7 on atrazine removal in drinking water. The effectiveness of filter was determined by general and physical-chemical analysis on drinking water samples before being treated with filter waterpik R-7, samples after being treated with filter waterpik R-7 and samples after being treated with saturated filter waterpik R-7. We made the analysis with drinking water test WS–425B and so we determined if there is any contamination of unwanted substances in water after being treated with waterpik R-7. We determined that the rate of total hardness in water was lower at the start. After about 20 L of water was used, the hardness of water went near value of safe drinking water. In the start of filtration the concentration of K+ went very high. After a few L of water used, its value was reduced down to 8 mg/L. The concentrations of atrazine and lead in water samples were reduced after being treated with filter waterpik R-7. Nitrate was reduced and probably replaced with chloride. We see that as increased electrical conductivity.
Keywords:Drinking water, block carbon water filter, adsorption.
