Abstract:
Sladkorna bolezen tipa 2 je ena najpogostejših kroničnih bolezni, ki je v zadnjem obdobju v naglem porastu. Dokazano je, da lahko osveščenost prebivalstva bistveno vpliva na preprečevanje tako naglega razvoja sladkorne bolezni tipa 2. Zdravstvena vzgoja je tudi pomemben sestavni del oskrbe bolnikov s sladkorno boleznijo tipa 2. Njen cilj je bolnika usposobiti za dejavno sodelovanje pri zdravljenju svoje bolezni in s tem izboljšati presnovno urejenost in zmanjšati tveganje za akutne in kronične zaplete sladkorne bolezni tipa 2. Diplomsko delo je sestavljeno iz teoretičnega in empiričnega dela. V teoretičnem delu je predstavljena klasifikacija in etiologija sladkorne bolezni, njena klinična slika ter diagnoza, opisani pa so tudi akutni in kronični zapleti in zdravljenje sladkorne bolezni tipa 2. V empiričnem delu so predstavljeni rezultati ankete, opravljene med stotimi bolniki s sladkorno boleznijo tipa 2, ki so obiskali diabetološko ambulanto v Univerzitetnem kliničnem centru Maribor. Ugotavljali smo njihovo poznavanje sladkorne bolezni tipa 2 in katere metode, oblike dela in učna sredstva so zdravstveni delavci uporabili pri njihovem zdravstveno-vzgojnem delu. Rezultati ankete so pokazali, da čeprav bolniki s sladkorno boleznijo tipa 2 menijo, da je na voljo dovolj zdravstveno vzgojnega gradiva in so jim zdravstveni delavci nudili dovolj podpore in informacij, se ne zavedajo resnosti te bolezni.

Patient Education in Type 2 Diabetes
Abstract:
Type 2 diabetes is one of the most common chronic diseases in the last period of rapid growth. There is evidence that awareness of the population may be significantly affected by the rapid spread of prevention of type 2 diabetes. Health education is also an important component of care for patients with type 2 diabetes Its aim is to enable the patient to actively participate in the treatment of their disease and thereby improve the regulation of metabolic and reduce the risk of acute and chronic complications of type 2 diabetes. The thesis consists of theoretical and empirical work. The theoretical part presents the classification and etiology of diabetes mellitus and its clinical picture and diagnosis are also described as acute and chronic complications and treatment of type 2 diabetes. In the empirical work are presented the results of a survey carried out among a hundred patients with type 2 diabetes who visited the diabetic clinic in the University Medical Centre Maribor. We assessed their knowledge of type 2 diabetes and which methods, design work and teaching aids used as health care professionals in the medical-educational work. The survey results showed that although patients with type 2 diabetes believe that there is a sufficient health education material and health professionals to offer them enough support and information, are not aware of the seriousness of this disease.
