Abstract:
Izbira poklica je zelo pomembna odločitev vsakega posameznika in zato je nujno, da je premišljena, da odraža posameznikove želje in sposobnosti ter da je po drugi strani primerna za potrebe na trgu dela. V teoretičnem delu diplomskega dela smo predstavili osnovne pojme, kot so poklicna vzgoja, poklicno svetovanje in poklicna orientacija, nadalje smo predstavili načela in cilje poklicne orientacije ter ugotovili, zakaj je potrebna. V teoretičnem delu smo se dotaknili tudi zgodovine poklicne orientacije v Sloveniji ter kako poteka v osnovni in srednji šoli. Predstavili pa smo tudi centre za poklicno usmerjanje in njihove programe. Opredelili smo njene prednosti in slabosti poklicne orientacije in na koncu predstavili še razlike med učenci in učenkami pri poklicni orientaciji. V empiričnem delu pa smo preučevali, koliko so učenci in dijaki seznanjeni z možnostjo pomoči svetovalnega delavca, koliko so informirani o nadaljnjem izobraževanju ter kje bi iskali pomoč pri poklicnih odločitvah. Zanimalo nas je, ali učenci in dijaki poznajo centre za poklicno svetovanje in ali se jim zdi njihovo obiskovanje smiselno. Prav tako pa smo ugotavljali, ali se zdijo učencem in dijakom svetovalni delavci dovolj kompetentni ter kaj menijo o količini poklicne orientacije med poukom.

Title:
ADVISORY WORKER AND PROFESSIONAL ORIENTATION
Abstract:
Choosing a profession is a very important decision of every individual and therefore it should be well considered, it should reflect the person's wishes and abilities and it should be appropriate for the needs of the labour market. In the theoretical part of my diploma thesis we have presented the basic notions, like vocational education, vocational counselling and vocational orientation, further on we have presented the principles and goals of vocational orientation and established why it is necessary. In the theoretical part of the thesis we have also mentioned the history of vocational orientation in Slovenia and its course in elementary and secondary school. We have presented the centres for vocational guidance and their programmes. We have defined the advantages and disadvantages of vocational orientation and at the end presented also the differences among male and female pupils in vocational orientation. In the empirical part of the thesis we have studied: the familiarity of the pupils of elementary and secondary school with the possibility of vocational guidance, the informing of the pupils about further education and where they would seek for help with vocational decisions. We wanted to know, whether the pupils and students are familiar with centres for vocational guidance and whether visiting such a centre seems reasonable to them. We also wanted to know whether the vocational counsellors seem sufficiently qualified to the pupils and students and what they think about the quantity of vocational orientation during class.
