Abstract:
V življenju se vsakodnevno srečujemo z različnimi mediji, ki nam služijo kot vir zabave, predvsem pa tudi kot vir informacij. Kako razumemo v medijih podane informacije je v večji meri odvisno od tega, kako smo do njih kritični in tudi od tega, kako so nam te informacije podane. S pomočjo medijev pridemo tudi do informacij, ki bi drugače ostale skrite. Iz tega razloga je ena izmed pomembnejših funkcij medijev tudi funkcija psa čuvaja, na katero se bomo osredotočili v diplomskem delu. Proučevanja funkcije medija kot psa čuvaja smo se najprej lotili s teoretičnega stališča, s pomočjo že obstoječih virov, nato pa še s praktičnega stališča s pomočjo metode anketiranja. S pomočjo analize anketnih vprašalnikov smo ugotovili, da je s funkcijo medija kot psa čuvaja seznanjen le majhen del anketirancev.

PERCEPTION OF MEDIA THROUGH THE WATCHDOG ROLE
Abstract:
In everyday life, we face a variety of media, which serve us as a source of entertainment, and especially as a source of information. How we understand the information given to us through the media is mostly dependent on how we are critical to them and also on how that information is given to us. Using the media we also get the information that would otherwise remain hidden. For this reason, one of the most important functions of media is the function of the watchdog role, on which we will focus in this thesis. When we studied the function of media through the watchdog role, we first dealt with the theoretical point of view, using already existing theories and later on we dealt with the practical point of view, using the help of the survey method. With the help of the analysis of questionnaires, we found out that only a small proportion of respondents are aware of the media function as a watchdog.
